We arrived back in town—as planned—for the 65th International Conference on World Affairs held for one week on the University of Colorado’s campus. We also arrived in time for two weeks of that four-letter word:  s-n-o-w!

Summer in Boulder 2012

After eight months on the road we arrive back in Boulder.  Our first few days here were warm and sunny.  I kissed the “dishwasher” (Tom said he'd take over now that he has a robot to help him); hugged my vacuum cleaner; smiled at our walk-in closet; said "I love you" to the hot tub; baked some bread;  enjoyed having (almost too much) counter space; and felt extremely happy and pleased that friends haven’t forgotten us.

Southern Caribbean Cruise 2012

We cruised on Holland America’s Maasdam for 25 days and traveled over 6,000 miles on the ship.   Many of the photos for these postcards were taken with my new 4S iPhone camera. I gave them borders and captions while they were still on the iPhone’s camera roll, and was able to then email the “cards” directly from the iPhone.  I think you can tell which cards were iPhoned and which were created in my traditional manner!
